The Lauten Sessions

The new Lauten sessions have been posted  in the sessions section of their website. Brian, the Founder of Lauten Audio and I spent a couple of days at Kronos studio recording with Gary Novack on drums, and Scott Kinsey tickling the ivories. We recorded multiple set-ups of both instruments utilizing the soon to be released full line of Lauten Audio microphones. It was such a tremendous experience for us to be able to try different configurations of these mics along with the great musicianship of these fine gentleman. Go have yourself a listen, its layed out real nice and easy to listen to.
The full line of Lauten mics should be in stores by the end of the summer, with the Horizon in stores now.

On a side note, we had a loaner piece of gear from Summit Audio. The TPA-200b, its their two channel mic pre that contains a tube gain stage along side a solid state gain stage. The more I use this box the more I need one or two. We used it for the overheads on the drums, which was great. Then with the piano sessions we did two passes, one pass with the summit, the other pass with API 512's. We did this with all of the mics.
As days past I continued using the Summit mic pre's, They also have line inputs, which is really sweet in a mix on electric guitars. Add that piece to the gotta have list.
